Suicide prevention has been a major topic this year. The awareness raised for the subject has largely been brought to the forefront of people’s minds by the past and recent troubles with mental health in the area. Sarah Mussetter, an art teacher at Park High had her graphic design class design a sticker about suicide awareness.
The bridge team of Park County, headed by Kelly Miller, is a mobile crisis response team. They are giving different businesses throughout Livingston the opportunity to promote the stickers, which will be made by local artists. Mussetter then offered the graphic design class to make the stickers to be placed out for businesses to feature. She thought this would be a good idea as the subject was relevant to the community of Park High.
Mussetter left the topic pretty open as long as the topic of the stickers were appropriate. There were opt out forms for those that felt uncomfortable about the project. Kyle Gentry did not opt out and made the masterpiece of Lebron James “dunking your problems away”. Gentry thoroughly enjoyed the project and emphasizes the importance of mental health. Hope was a main point focused on throughout the project and instead of being quiet about the topic more people needed to be “called out” on their mental health in order to try to get people to open up so that others can help.
