People And Their Pets
The pleasure an animal companion brings, bringing the quiet, simple, and memorable moments between a human and their dog: a long walk on the trail or sitting while your dog looks at you. Your animal companion knows a lot more about you than you think, from your energy and vibes to the way you talk. Your pets know it all, feeling the attachment to the human they have, making the connection to you in your day to day life with having the feeling of safety and security.
People have pets at home, but people also bring their pets to work, school, and when they travel. Pets can be a valuable part of a work place and can sometimes be a stress reliever. Brenda Stephani, a family, school, and community treatment supervisor for L’ Esprit, said that she sees a lot of emotional regulation when she brings Nala, her three-year-old therapy dog, to the office. “People do come in just to see the dog and pet the dog,” Stephani said, explaining that Nala’s presence motivates people to self-regulate. A dog or any animal can be a soothing, calming and a relaxing way to let go of stress and anger.
Having a therapy animal can be a really good source of comfort for a person. A pet bond is one of the most special connections and can be an attachment that is stronger than you ever thought it would be. The comfort a pet brings is a gift and it should never be taken for granted, with the unique attachment that a human and animal have is one of the strongest bonds that can be formed. Even after your pets cross the rainbow bridge, you will always be connected no matter what and that special animal will always be a part of you. We all know that when that special animal enters your life, you build an unbreakable bond and you will have that attachment to your special animal for the rest of your life, and that certain pet will always love you forever and ever.
People see their pets as part of the family, whether their pet is a dog, horse, cat, or even a bird or snake. I have a fur baby of my own. He is an Aussiedoodle, which is a Standard poodle, mixed with an Australian shepherd and he is one of the biggest joys of my life. His name is Heart and he turned five years old this past February, but he acts like he is still a puppy and that is what brings joy to my heart everyday. The second I met Heart when he was eight weeks old, I knew this was the dog that was supposed to come home with me. I have raised Heart and he has grown to be the biggest, silliest, and most joyful dog that I have ever had. Heart brings me joy every day of the week, 24/7, and I could not ask for a better animal companion.
