Eighth grader basketball Phenom dominates the court in the boys JV game against Lockwood.

On Saturday, Feb. 10 Park High’s JV team played against Lockwood, and after a close first half the boys entered half time with Lockwood leading 23-19.

Miles Young, an eighth grader at Sleeping Giant Middle School, dropped 16 points in the game against Lockwood, making him the high scorer of the game. As for the Lockwood Lions, four players scored 10 or more points, making them an all-around good shooting team.

Sophomore Weston Ensing pulled up from the three-point line and was fouled hard, sending him to the line where he drained all three free throw shots.

Junior Jaxson White agreed that turnovers were a game killerfor the Rangers. “It seemed like every time we picked up the ball we would
trav el with it, and I am guilty of this,” said White. “It has been a problem all year for us, turning over the ball. We definitely played better against Lockwood this time than we did last time.”

Lockwood’s varsity program is sitting number one in Livingston’s division, with a 9-1 record. Overall their record is 15-3. The Lockwood Lions will head to divisionals on February 22-24.
