Cade Gubler wrestles against a Laurel wrestler. Senior Cade weighs in at the 182 weight class and lost one match and won another.

Park High wrestling went up against Number two Laurel wrestling on January 4. Park came close to a victory, but Laurel was able to hold the lead with a 38-31 score. This score looks like a loss, but to the Rangers, the skill each wrestler showed was a win. The team has had a good season this year, said head wrestling coach Ben Hahn.

The most recent tournament in Miles City the weekend of January 14 resulted in eight medalists and the first brother and sister first place medalists with Cade and Jessica Gubler making history for Montana high school wrestling. Jessica Gubler was also voted as most outstanding wrestler after pinning all of her opponents in under a minute. Hahn says, “This is the most historic or best finish in 63 years as a team.”
