Think before you speak

Jamison Geyer, Geyser Staff Writer

Four years: the time that has passed since I walked through the front doors of PHS to now, as I’m sitting down to write this stupid senior column. I have had a lot of struggles in life, but I would say my biggest struggle is a common one. People don’t think before they speak. It has been a long while with no help and no hope. There is always that one friend who talks and never thinks. We all know those people (me). Do not worry. I have a solution. Trust me. I talk a lot, so I know what I’m talking about. All you got to do is… be quiet. Just don’t talk. Be silent. Trust me. If you say nothing, a lot of good can come out of it. For one. If you don’t talk, you never have to ever worry about saying something stupid. You will look smart to everyone…unless they see your grades. Then don’t let them see your grades. Second. Your opinion will matter. If you are silent. And your friends are arguing. They will ask you for advice and you can sound smart because you don’t talk. The last thing. You will seem mysterious. People will wonder what’s going on in your head. Some people might find it attractive. Out of all the advice I could ever give, I ask you to please take this under consideration. Do us all a favor. Be quiet.
