Starting March 31, you might see some seniors walking around town with floaties, flippers, and even swim goggles. This is because the game of senior assassin starts. Senior assassin is when everyone that is playing is assigned a person and they attempt to assassinate them with a water gun. Each player pays a $10 entry fee and the winner takes all (currently $450).
The prize money encouraged senior Holden Bankert to play the game, and he thinks it will be fun to get his opponent out.
There are many rules in the game, including that school is a safe zone. Because this game isn’t associated with school it’s only fair that shooting your target at school or school-related activities like sports are prohibited. To be safe from your assassin you must either wear goggles on your eyes or on your forehead, floaties on the arms, or flippers in public or even at your house in order to be safe from the” shots”. To get inside a person’s house to get them out, everyone must have permission from parents. To make your kills count you must record it and send it to the group chat. Splashin is the app that is used to run senior assassin.
The app generates who your person will be and shares their location with you at all times. Some students aren’t comfortable with the idea of someone having their location at all times so it’s advised that if you don’t want to share it then simply don’t play. The app features also includes group chats with other players as well. If your kill gets approved then the person is out.
A main key point to winning senior assassin is to not share who your target is, not even with your friends. There is no time length on the game just until the last person is standing. Senior Maddison Wise is the one who thought of the idea of playing the game and is running it with Jonathan Durgan. “ I think that this is a fun game to play finishing out senior year, and it involves everyone that wants to play,” said Maddie Wise. So seniors get your supplies and send over your money and let the game begin.
