The wait is finally over for OBX fans who have been seeking closure since Netflix’s decision to release the season in two parts. Season 4 of ”Outer Banks” released on October 10, and with this being the first time Netflix decided to do a split season of the show, viewers who binged the show too fast were left dangling on a cliffhanger for about a month.
The Netflix original and fan favorite targeting young adults and kids is based on the East coast with a group of teenagers (the pogues) who search and locate gold as modern day treasure hunters. Most viewers of this series expect this season to be one of the best. From the many adventures leading up to this moment to the plot twists turning your head, this season definitely made an indent on many fans’ hearts.
I feel a big change in the new release that’s different from the past seasons was the couples establishing their stance and places in their relationships. Sarah and John B still grow as a couple and go through many challenges together, yet something that surprised me was the relationship of Kie and JJ, many fans didn’t expect this though, comments and such always seemed to ship them together through social media. Though they both can be a handful as individuals they make a pretty good couple through this series. Before this new season the main focus was the differences and fights between the kooks vs. the pogues, but now facing more out of the island is now scarier for them all.
Leading up to this moment, stealing the gold from the royal Merchant was a huge hassle. And once they got the gold, they thought their treasure hunting was over… yet an unexpected turn happened due to the loss of all their money. A big figure within the season was JJ, definitely stirring things up and making a hassle. JJ is one of fan favorites so i feel people give him slack for his actions.
By season’s end, the pogues face a new hardship: grief. Overcoming this hardship in season 5 will no doubt bring new adventures and experiences for everyone.
If you are in love with some of these characters and wish to watch more movies and shows with them you can see Madison Bailey (Kiara) with “Time Cut” on Netflix, also Drew Starkey (Rafe) with “The Devil All The Time” on Netflix, or Madylyn Cline (Sarah) with “What Breaks The Ice”. There are many more that feature these actors that are just a search away.
