The whistle blows and the ball goes in the air: it’s Jan. 27 and the JV Boys are playing the Glendive Red Devils at home. Sophomore Kyle Gentry gains possession of the ball to start the game, but Drew White, a sophomore for the Devils, steals it and makes a layup. The first quarter ended with the Rangers trailing, 31-10, after junior Cameron Sestrich, made a few two-pointers and layups and junior Jaxson White also put points on the board.
The next three quarters followed the same pattern with Glendive player White making lots of layups and Sestrich leading the Rangers in points, and Livingston lost, 71-26.
Junior forward Eli Caplis said the JV teams needs to work to “limit the amount of turnovers and communicate better as a team”. Junior forward Warren Lee said, “I think as a team we need to just listen to the coach more.”
This week the JV team played Hardin at home on Monday and later in the week they will match up against Billings Central and Lockwood.
